Boston’s Favorite Spot for Japanese Comfort

"Having a late lunch at Yume Ga Arukara, we decided to try it mainly because it was highly recommended on 小紅書. Since we’re not fans of 涼麵 (cold noodles), we skipped their signature dish and ordered the hot udon soup instead both spicy and non‑spicy, and without beef. The soup itself was fine — comforting and mild. The broth tasted like it was made with rice and small dried shrimp, giving it a light seafood aroma. They also added a generous amount of tenkasu (tempura crunch), which gave the bowl a nice texture. But honestly, compared to the hype on 小紅書, I felt it was a bit overrated. Not bad at all, just not mind‑blowing. Even though we didn’t order the cold noodles, almost every customer in the shop was having it. That tells me the cold udon is probably the real star here. So my review is incomplete in that sense as I can only comment on the hot version. P/S: The entrance is a bit misleading — you must enter through the mall. There’s no direct entrance from the outside of the building, so first‑timers might get confused."

"Authentic, unique and very tasty. Beef was flavorful, soup broth was thick, chilli paste tasted so good with the cold udon. Just sooo good! No complaints about the limited seatings, that's the Japanese way. Didn't get to eat it last year when visiting Boston due to long queue, so went twice on this visit during off-peak hours. The different servers who attended to us on the two different days were attending and helpful too! Wish there's one in Singapore 😋😅"

"There was a 15 minutes or so wait time when we arrived at the restaurant but when we left, it seemed more like an hour wait time so please arrive ahead of time if you plan to eat at this restaurant. The food is quite tasty. The sweetness from the marinated beef slices paired quite well with the soup they had. The udon had great texture and took the flavours of the beef and the soup nicely. For around 17$ a bowl, the portions are quite nice and filling but I still feel like it's a bit expensive for udon noodles. The service was welcoming but I didn't feel like there was much patience or respect in the way the waitress spoke to us."

The meat was tender and melted in your mouth, tying everything together beautifully. Every element felt balanced and thoughtfully prepared—easily one of the best udon experiences I’ve had. Highly recommend!"
